About Us

Museum L-A, The Story of Work and Community in Lewiston-Auburn. Our mission is to connect generations, strengthen community, and foster discovery and innovative thinking.

Discover the rich heritage of labor, industrial commitment, community expansion, and cultural influences. More than a collector of artifacts, Museum L-A is a teller of stories, serving as an extended classroom, spurring economic growth, welcoming visitors including tourists, and encouraging collaboration. The Museum is a community resource serving as a vehicle to explore and remember the past, understand the present, and illuminate the future.

Our exhibits and programs give history a face and a heart through first-hand perspectives that make our heritage widely accessible and encourage family fun and learning across generations. Find unique gifts at our Museum Gift Shop. Maine Heritage Weaver bedspreads and Work Art prints are available.
